Barrus Named Child-Friendly Company of the Year in Võru County 2022!

At Barrus, we deeply care about our people. Our team is made up of supportive and friendly individuals — like one big family. And we extend that care to our employees’ little family members too.

For example, Barrus fully covers the cost of one hobby activity for each child of our employees. Families can also visit Väimela Health Center for free.
Although we haven’t been able to organize our usual children’s Christmas parties in recent years due to virus concerns, we’ve focused even more on meaningful holiday gifts.

Last Christmas, the Barrus Santa placed a special surprise under the tree — our very own board game, “From Forest to Window.”
The year before that, we created a unique coloring book called “The Elephant in the Võru Pine Forest”, which included a Võru-language poem describing what we do.
Another exciting gift has been our custom-designed Portel Puzzle — a 9-piece brain teaser that even challenges adults!

We also celebrate children starting school with a small gift and offer financial support to employees who become new parents.

We believe it’s important to support the local Võru County community to help it grow and remain a strong, secure place to live.

For example:

• The artificial turf football field in Võru is named Barrus Arena, thanks to our sponsorship.

• We support Andsumäe Ski Club and Võru Ski Club to help young athletes develop.

• We back Võru County Sports Union to keep the local sports scene active.

• And of course, we proudly sponsor the Barrus Võru Volleyball Club, both the women’s team and the top-league men’s team!

Every Christmas, we also support families in need across Võru County — this year, we brought joy to six families.
And even the local high school ball gets a boost from Barrus, helping young people enjoy a special evening.
