Barrus Carbon Footprint

To combat climate change and ensure sustainability, Barrus has been measuring its carbon footprint for several years. We are proud to announce that our 2023 results show a 47% improvement compared to the previous year! 🌿

The reduction in our footprint is the result of several actions:

  • We have switched entirely to clean electricity (Scope 2).

  • We have improved efficiency, used fewer resources, and redirected waste for recycling.

In the coming years, we will focus more intensively on Scope 3 (production, transport, etc.) and pursue additional projects to make our daily work even more efficient and responsible.

Background info:

  • Scope 1 – Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by the company (e.g., vehicle fuels, stationary combustion, and fugitive emissions).

  • Scope 2 – Indirect emissions from purchased energy (e.g., heating, electricity, cooling, and steam).

  • Scope 3 – Other indirect emissions from the company’s value chain (e.g., purchased goods and services, capital assets, waste, business travel, employee commuting).
